General
imagi provides a safe, educational layer between AI tools and students.
First, we equip students with essential computer science foundations, alongside computational thinking skills. We do this through creative Python coding projects.
Then, we support them in how to transfer these skills into an AI-driven world. With our ready-made lesson materials and safe AI tool integrations, students can practice the career-ready skills in creative projects.
We are helping students to create with AI, not cheat with AI.
imagi is designed for teachers and students in Grades 3–12 (ages 7–18). First, it was built for girls, but now it's used by everyone.
1. An online platform (imagi Edu). Works best on desktops. Free and paid versions available.
2. An optional coding device (imagiCharm). Not essential, but a super engaging way to show off students' Python projects.
3. A free Gaming App - available on iPhone and iPad.
No previous programming or AI experience is needed.
All of our courses provide detailed, supportive lesson plans to guide you through the activities, and the coding app game starts at a simple coding level.
You can even use the built-in AI debug popup to help you!
And, we have our amazing, supportive community group always on your side if you need it.
Getting Started: Accounts & Access
Any desktop, laptop, Chromebook, or tablet with an internet connection and an up-to-date browser. No downloads or installations required. Students can also work in pairs if devices are limited. The platform runs in the browser, so there's no software to install or update. See full technical requirements
Log in to your imagi Edu dashboard using an educator email address. Request Lovable access from your dashboard. Student accounts are generated automatically — you receive all credentials directly in your dashboard and can export or print them as reminder cards. That's it. Step-by-step activation guide
Students log in using the anonymous username and password you share from your dashboard. They access Lovable via the link provided in your dashboard — they should not use the standard Lovable login at lovable.dev, which requires an email address and is not part of the safe classroom setup. Share credentials once and students can log in anytime. View login instructions
You can request up to two replacement accounts per student directly in your imagi Edu dashboard. Each replacement creates a fresh account, so previous projects won't carry over automatically. If you need help recovering work from an earlier account, contact support@imagilabs.com.
AI Tools: Lovable
Lovable x imagi brings AI-assisted app creation into your classroom. Students describe an idea in plain language, and Lovable builds it into a working game, quiz, website, or app- no coding experience needed. imagi provides a safe, teacher-controlled doorway into Lovable, along with ready-made lesson materials to get your class up and running quickly.
Vibe Coding is just another term for using plain language to describe software you want to build, and then letting AI bring it to life. It teaches students to think critically, ask better questions, and create responsibly; skills that matter in any future career.
Lovable x imagi is designed for teachers and students in Grades 6–12 (ages 11–18). No prior coding or AI experience is needed, from either teachers or students.
Students log in via imagi, using the anonymous username and password you share when you've added them to a classroom. Find instructions on our resources page.
They should not use the standard Lovable login at lovable.dev, which requires an email address and is not part of the safe classroom setup.
This version of Lovable is already made student-friendly by being inside imagi’s platform. We embed certain guardrails.
To give you a sense of control, you can toggle access to Lovable on and off at any time. In addition, our built-in safety monitor gives teachers the ability to track students’ AI use, flags any inappropriate prompts, and suggests ways to support students in using AI more responsibly.
If you would like more specific guidance about how imagi can support your individual school’s safety needs, please contact us at support@imagilabs.com.
Credits are like ‘coins’ that power Lovable builds. Each time a student or teacher generates or updates a project, credits are used. They help ensure the platform runs fairly for everyone.
As responsible users of AI, we need to learn how to use credits responsibly and understand the ethical effects on our world. Our lesson plans and projects provide a hands-on way to learn about this.
Credit top-ups for students are managed through your imagi Edu subscription. If your class is running low, reach out to the imagi team to discuss your options of buying more credits. support@imagilabs.com
Lovable Changes From July 17
Lovable is now built directly into imagi Edu. You and your students access Lovable using your imagi Edu accounts, without being redirected to lovable.dev and without a separate Lovable login. This replaces the previous version, which sent you out to Lovable using separate accounts.
The new integration gives you a smoother, safer experience inside imagi Edu, with everything managed through your imagi Edu account. It also lets you use existing imagi Edu classroom features directly with the Lovable experience.
Sadly, no. The new integration uses new accounts, so projects created with the previous version do not carry over automatically. We are giving you a grace period to save any work you want to keep.
Until September 30, log in to your previous Lovable account and share or transfer the project to a personal or parent Lovable account. This gives you an editable copy that stays with you after the switch. Step-by-step instructions are at [link].
Publishing creates a view-only link, so it is not a good way to keep working on a project. If you want to keep editing your work, transfer it to a personal or parent account instead.
You will no longer be able to access your previous Lovable account. Projects that were not transferred to a personal account will no longer be reachable. Your new imagi Lovable projects are not affected.
You can transfer a project to a parent or guardian's personal Lovable account. That account needs an email address, so we recommend a parent or guardian helps set it up before September 30.
Your imagi Edu login stays the same, and you will now use Lovable through imagi Edu with your imagi Edu account. If you had a separate teacher Lovable account under the previous version, the same save-your-work steps apply before September 30.
With the new integration, free verified teachers get a small number of free Lovable credits to explore and test Lovable for themselves. If you want more credits, or you want to enable Lovable for your students, you will need an imagi Edu Pro plan. Request a quote at https://info.imagilabs.com/quote and we will set you up with the right number of student seats and credits. Please note that credits from your previous Lovable account do not transfer to the new integration.
Email support@imagilabs.com and we will help you save your work or get set up with the new integration.
imagiCharm
The imagiCharm is a programmable device that brings creative projects and designs coded in Python to life. With its 64 colorful LED lights and durable make, it can be used as a powerful way to make learning how to code more creative, tangible, and fun. The imagiCharm connects via Bluetooth with the imagi Edu platform and apps for schools or the imagi coding game for iPhone and iPad for at-home use.
iPhone and iPad: iPhone and iPad devices must have OS version 13.0 or higher.
Android: Tablet with Android 9 or later.
Web: imagi Edu platform.
Kids ages 8-14+ enjoy our learning tools. We have seen some 6-year-olds and even adults rocking the imagiCharm too!
How do I clean my imagiCharm?
Clean the surface of the imagiCharm with a soft, damp cloth. Do NOT use any solvents, chemicals or cleaning solutions containing alcohol, ammonia or abrasives.
How can I charge the imagiCharm?
Insert the micro USB cable into the imagiCharm's charging port. If needed, loosen the strap to get better access to the USB port. While the device is charging, the indicator LED will glow orange. When the device is fully charged (approximately in about 2 hours), the indicator LED will glow green.
How long does the battery last?
The imagiCharm's battery lasts for 6 hours with average use.
Something is wrong with my imagiCharm. What should I do?
To start off, make sure your imagiCharm is charged. Insert the micro USB cable into the imagiCharm's charging port. While the device is charging, the indicator LED will glow orange. Next, restart your imagiCharm by long pressing the on/off button. If you are still experiencing problems after these steps, contact us at support@imagilabs.com for further assistance.
If you received the wrong product, faulty or damaged imagiCharm, please email support@imagilabs.com within 14 days of the date you received the product. To be eligible for a standard return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging and returned within 14 days of the date you receive the product.
Data Privacy, Security & Compliance
Yes — as long as students log in through the teacher-generated anonymous accounts. No personally identifiable information is collected. All accounts are anonymous, teacher-generated, and operated through imagi Edu. The environment has no social or third-party features, and all prompts and outputs are filtered for profanity and adult content. Teachers retain full control over student access at all times. Important: students should never create their own account at lovable.dev. If they do, the above privacy protections do not apply.
Many schools block AI tools until they confirm COPPA compliance — which this integration is. Let your IT team or Tech Director know that students access Lovable anonymously through imagi, with no student data exposed. If you'd like the imagi team to reach out to your IT contact directly, email support@imagilabs.com with their details and we'll help get it sorted.
Email support@imagilabs.com with your IT contact's details and the imagi team will reach out directly to confirm COPPA compliance and help get access approved.
Troubleshooting
Email support@imagilabs.com and we will help you save your work or get set up with the new integration.
Check that you've shared the correct username and password from your imagi Edu dashboard. Students use teacher-generated credentials — they don't create their own login, and they shouldn't use lovable.dev. If you're still having trouble, contact support@imagilabs.com.
Projects are saved automatically in Lovable. If a student can't find their work, make sure they're logged into the correct account. If the project was published, it can be accessed via the published link. For anything else, contact support@imagilabs.com.
